Verstappen: This Isn’t Just for Zak Brown, It’s for Everyone

Max Verstappen dismisses the speculation surrounding Red Bull Racing, describing it as bizarre how people jump to conclusions about the team’s current situation. The Dutch driver emphasizes that he prefers not to expend too much energy on these rumors.

After a dominant 2023 season where Verstappen won all but three Grands Prix, he has now gone several months without a victory. His last win came in Spain, and since the Miami GP, Red Bull has faced stiff competition from McLaren, as well as occasional challenges from Mercedes and Ferrari. While some speculate that Red Bull has misstepped in the development of the RB20, there have also been wild rumors that have troubled the team.

Verstappen: “Bizarre how people reach conclusions”

McLaren CEO Zak Brown suggested that Red Bull’s drop in performance is linked to unrest within the team earlier this season. However, Verstappen dismisses such comments from rivals, stating, “Other people shout things all the time, but they should focus on their own team. This isn’t specifically aimed at Zak Brown; it applies to everyone. Everyone should concentrate on their own business, and so should I,”

Another rumored cause of Red Bull’s recent struggles is a rule change regarding asymmetrical braking. Verstappen finds it peculiar how certain rumors gain traction. “I find it quite bizarre how people sometimes come up with these things, but it is what it is,” the three-time world champion remarked.

While he acknowledges that rumors and speculation are part of the Formula One landscape, Verstappen admits he doesn’t pay much attention to them. Although he believes everyone is entitled to their opinion, he largely ignores these reports, choosing to spend his free time on other activities instead.
